ESG GBA Sustainable Growth Promotion Association
ESG GBA Sustainable Growth Promotion Association was established in 2024 as an independent, non-profit charitable ESG organization. The association was jointly initiated by professionals from various business and academic fields , hoping to jointly explore and practice ESG solutions in China and contribute to building a sustainable, fair and transparent business environment.
Mission
Using Hong Kong as a bridge, the programme introduces cutting-edge international ESG concepts and evaluation systems, and promotes the synergistic development and prosperity of the Greater Bay Area by bringing together the world's best experiences and local innovations to foster a green, inclusive and responsible economy.
Objectives
  • Education and Publicity
    Promote public and corporate awareness and understanding of ESG concepts by organising lectures, seminars and training.
  • Resource Sharing
    Build an information platform to facilitate the exchange and sharing of ESG-related resources, best practices and successful cases within and outside the Greater Bay Area.
  • Policy Advocacy
    Actively work with government and related organisations to promote the formulation and implementation of policies conducive to ESG development.
  • Co-operation Network
    Establish a cross-border co-operation network, linking enterprises, non-profit organisations, academics and other parties to jointly promote the realisation of ESG objectives.
  • Evaluation and Feedback
    Conduct regular evaluations to provide feedback on the progress of ESG promotion in the Greater Bay Area and to continuously improve the Association's activities and strategies.
Founders
  • Dr. Ding Xueliang
    PhD from Harvard University, is an Emeritus Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and is an academic member of the Boyuan Foundation.
  • Dr. Wu Changyou
    PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Montreal in Canada, postdoctoral fellow at Hoffmann-La Roche lnc.in the United States of America, and an immunology expert with a special grant from the State Council.
  • Dr. John C.S. Tang
    PhD in Resource Economics from University of Florida, Emeritus Professor of Asian Institute of Technology, visiting professor of Beijing Normal University, Sun Yat-sen University (Lingnan College), Shanghai University and Beijing Institute of Technology, Consultant of Asia Pacific University in Thailand.
  • Mr. Gao Yichuan
    Master of Science from Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Chief Editor of South + ESG Channel,General Manager of ESG Global Media Centre,General Manager of Guangdong Dayou Media Technology Co., Ltd., and vice President of Hong Kong Foton Youth Association.
  • Ms. Wu Zelin
    Master of Business Administration of École des Hautes Études Economiques et Commerciales (Paris), France, senior financial planner, senior media personality, co-founder of Zhitong Caijing, the first platform of Hong Kong stock information, served as the deputy general manager and editor-in-chief of Zhitong Caijing,Chief Editor of ESG Global Media Centre.
  • Dr. Wu Haifeng
    PhD in Finance from the University of New South Wales, Australia. He is currently the Director of the Sustainable Finance Research Center of the Shenzhen Institute of Data Economy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Finance, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).
  • Dr. Du Shangbo
    Doctor of Harbin Institute of Technology, outstanding postdoctoral fellow of Tsinghua University, Mining exploration and testing Consultant of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), overseas high-end talents Category A, foreign "high Precision and shortage" talents in Shenzhen, and "Deep Dragon Talents" category D in Longgang District. He is mainly engaged in the research of green zero-emission building materials, high-performance concrete materials, Marine engineering materials, nano-adsorption materials, waste glass and construction solid waste resource utilization. He is a member of Chinese Silicate Society, a member of Guangdong low-carbon Building Materials and Solid Waste Utilization Committee, and a member of Shenzhen Construction Waste Recycling Association.
