On 13th and 14th September 2024, ESG GBA Sustainable Growth Promotion Association participated in the Longhua District Double Recruitment and Double Attraction Party Service Centre to hold the ‘Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, “New” Tide’ New Energy and Sustainable Living Sunshine Bazaar, which integrates the recommendation of new energy enterprises‘ products, the experience of traditional Mid-Autumn Festival culture, and the display of enterprise workers’ creative goodies. The event combined the recommendation of new energy enterprises‘ products, the traditional cultural experience of Mid-Autumn Festival, and the display of enterprise workers’ creative goodies to promote the exchange and collision between enterprises, white-collar workers and young talents.
This bazaar convenes 10 representatives of new energy vehicle owners, each owner's stall tells a story of a better life, and each object practices a sustainable life. It is hoped that this event will inspire more people to pay attention to and participate in the practice of sustainable lifestyles, and work together to build a better future.
Among the many exhibiting brands, CATL (300750.SZ), as a leading company in the new energy industry, is particularly notable for its efforts in sustainable development. As the leader of the global power battery industry, CATL not only makes breakthroughs in technological innovation, but also has a far-reaching layout in the construction of sustainable development.
It is reported that from 2017 to 2023, the power battery usage of CATL has ranked first in the world for seven consecutive years. in 2023, the total global power battery installed capacity is about 705.5GWh, a year-on-year growth of 38.6%. Among them, the cumulative global power battery installed capacity of CATL reached 259.7GWh, a year-on-year growth of 40.80%, with a market share as high as 36.8%, ranking first in the industry.
However, the business scope of CATL is not limited to power batteries. The company is also involved in a variety of fields such as energy storage batteries and battery material recycling, reflecting its in-depth thinking about the sustainable development of the whole industrial chain. In terms of sustainable development construction, CATL has taken zero-carbon cities as a starting point, and made a comprehensive layout in the direction of photovoltaic power generation, energy storage power stations, electric logistics, and transport systems.
It is worth mentioning that CATL has already realised the construction of photovoltaic storage and charging integrated charging stations, and this innovative model is not only compatible with renewable energy access, but also capable of integrating the power grid, renewable energy, energy storage system and charging facilities into an intelligent microgrid system, which greatly improves the efficiency of energy use.
CATL' zero-carbon strategy even highlights its determination on the road to sustainable development. The company plans to achieve carbon neutrality in its core operations by 2025 and in its value chain by 2035, and is expected to be the world's first head battery company to achieve carbon neutrality. At present, CATL has already achieved carbon neutrality in four factories, and in the future, it will also extend its innovative zero-carbon solutions to zero-carbon communities, zero-carbon islands and zero-carbon cities, and ultimately realise its grand vision of a zero-carbon world.
In addition to Nintex, the bazaar also attracted the participation of many brands that uphold the concept of sustainable development. For example, Super Crab Crab (non-profit) uses discarded fishing nets, industrial plastics and other materials to create unique recycled products, while AGAIN Sustainable Coffee Aroma makes coffee grounds into fragrance, which not only reduces waste, but also brings a pleasant sensory experience to consumers.
These innovative sustainable lifestyles are not only reflected in the products, but also extend to all aspects of daily life. For example, the handmade lemon tea not only quenches the thirst, but also represents a healthy and environmentally friendly attitude towards life; the wooden handicrafts made by Park demonstrates the environmental creativity of ‘turning waste into treasure’; and the Sustainable Living Map (non-profit) provides a guide to sustainable choices covering all aspects of life for the people of Shenzhen.
Using the bazaar as a platform, focusing on the new energy industry and sustainable life, it provides space for enterprises to display their development concepts into the city's beautiful bazaar. The bazaar is an exploration of sustainable culture and sustainable lifestyles, integrating industry promotion, knowledge sharing, product experience and cultural interaction, and joining hands to move towards a better future of sustainable development.
